3D Diagnostic Imaging

Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Imaging for Dental Implantology

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a specialized 3D X-ray system that captures a complete volumetric image of your jaw, teeth, nerves, sinuses, and bone structure in a single low-dose scan. Unlike traditional 2D dental X-rays, CBCT gives Dr. Nail a precise, three-dimensional map of your anatomy — making implant planning dramatically more accurate and predictable.

Before placing a single implant, Dr. Nail uses CBCT data to virtually plan the entire procedure — selecting the ideal implant size, angle, and depth, and identifying any anatomical structures that must be avoided. What you see on the screen is exactly what happens in surgery.

Full 3D view of jawbone, sinuses, nerves, and teeth in a single scan
Precise measurement of bone density and volume before implant placement
Identifies nerve pathways to avoid during surgery — reducing risk
Detects hidden infections, cysts, or pathology invisible on 2D X-rays
Enables virtual implant planning before a single incision is made
Low radiation dose — far less than a medical CT scan
Eliminates guesswork and improves predictability of outcomes

How CBCT Works

  1. 1You sit still for ~10–20 seconds while the scanner rotates around your head.
  2. 2The system captures hundreds of images and reconstructs a full 3D model of your jaw.
  3. 3Dr. Nail reviews the 3D model to measure bone, locate nerves, and plan your implant virtually.
  4. 4The virtual plan guides every step of surgery — no surprises, no guesswork.
